Hey everyone!

Today was the last day of work for all of us. it was awesome to see all the projects that got done throughout the week.  Even though the day presented us with several challenges, it brought us closer as a group and body of Christ. Tomorrow is our last day and everyone is excited to spend a day relaxing on the shore of Lake Michigan.

Day 4, Tuesday

Today was the second day at the work sites! It was a great day. The weather was splendid and we were able to have car washes today. The kids had lots of fun not only washing cars but soaking each other as well. Other groups painted over graffiti, cleaned up Garfield Park, weeded, landscaped and took apart computers.
Jolene talked about peace being home at session tonight. The sessions have been amazingly powerful this week and we can see God moving through the participants already. Everyone has been getting along and branching out to people of other churches and becoming friends with people they have just met.
Everyone is exhausted but God is blessing us with the energy to continue our work every day. He has been answering many prayers already and we are excited to see how he will work throughout the rest of the week.

Day 3-Monday, June 27 2011

Today was the first day the participants visited their worksites! The jobs ranged from organizing food to demolishing houses. Even though it rained for a short while, a lot of our tasks were still accomplished. Thankfully tomorrow we look forward to a lot of sun.
Tonight at session, Jolene (our speaker), talked about loving yourself and how much God cherishes each individual. With a variety of burdens we bring forth, God carries each one of them on his own shoulders and died for our sins so that we may have peace no matter what. Session tonight turned out to be a breakthrough in the lives of many participants as well as leaders. Though showing vulnerability, participants experienced Gods work in their lives in a very unique way. As the duration of Day 3 has come to a close, we look forward to what God has in store for our upcoming days.
God bless,
The Host Team

Shalom: Peace no Matter What

I'm telling you these things while I'm still with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I'm leaving you well and whole. That's my parting gift to you. Peace. I don't leave you the way you're used to being left - feeling abandoned, bereft. So don't be upset. Don't be distraught.
John 14:25-27
